Circle 99: Dayton Constitution of BiH Needs to Be Changed

One of the introductory speakers at today's Circle 99 session in Sarajevo, Miro Lazović, said that Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot be a functional, stable, and democratic state on the Dayton formula with two entities and three peoples, and that this situation needs to be changed.

Lazović believes that it is high time for political parties to get serious, and that the current government has led Bosnia and Herzegovina into a "dead end" and is incapable of making progress. He also said that the authorities in BiH need "navigation" that is neither in Sarajevo, nor in Banja Luka, nor in Mostar, but is located in Brussels, or rather in Washington.

Speaking about the recent discussion on the current situation in BiH and its future, which was held in the House of Lords in London, Lazović said that it is symptomatic that only the media paid attention to this discussion, while the political parties to which the discussion refers are still silent today.

Introductory speaker Prof. Dr. Lada Sadiković, who also spoke at today's Circle 99, emphasized that the lords' messages are more than clear.

“...Dayton created arrangements that prevented the development of the state. We have constant obstruction from one part of the country, and BiH is becoming a black hole of corruption, a kind of lost soul, a dystopia, and the most unstable country in the region,” Sadiković quoted former High Representative in BiH Lord Paddy Ashdown, adding that his words speak for themselves.
