CRITICISM OF WORK: Council of Ministers of BiH proposed only three laws in 2019

SARAJevo, (Patria) – The House of Representatives of the BiH PA is today considering the Report on the Work of the Council of Ministers for 2019. A-SDA MP Jasmin Emrić stated that he analyzed the work of the Council of Ministers over the years and that it is evident that the Council of Ministers proposes fewer and fewer laws.

“In seven years, from 2013 to 2019, the Council of Ministers proposed 145 laws, an average of 21 laws per year. In 2019, the Council of Ministers adopted only three legal solutions. The Council of Ministers is one of the few governments in the region that is reluctant to propose and adopt laws,” said Emrić.

He points out that the Council of Ministers claims in the Report that in 2019 they continued to work on progress with a special focus on socio-economic reforms.

“This is just well-written because this specific claim is not supported by anything; it does not state what these socio-economic measures are, and the claimed progress is not visible. We seek justification in the unfavorable political environment. The results of the Council of Ministers in 2019 could not have been better because the environment was such that it took a year for the Council of Ministers to be appointed,” said Emrić.

Out of 111 planned projects in 2019, 92 were not realized. Only 19 projects were realized.

Emrić stated that he has no information from the Council of Ministers on how the funds collected from tolls and petroleum products were spent.

“I propose one conclusion, and that is that the House of Representatives of the BiH PA tasks the Council of Ministers to prepare and submit a report within 30 days on the status and expenditure of revenues from tolls and petroleum products from 2017 to 2019, and a list of projects for which they were spent,” said Emrić.
