Krišto also complained to Lajčak about Schmidt's changes to the BiH Election Law

(Patria) - BiH Council of Ministers Chairperson Borjana Krišto spoke today, ahead of the opening of the 25th International Economy Fair in Mostar, with the EU Special Envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and other Western Balkans regional issues Miroslav Lajčák about BiH's European path.

Krišto thanked Special Envoy Lajčák for his constant support in our country's European integration process. She stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina has made an exceptional leap forward on its European path in the past period, and that the official opening of accession negotiations represents a kind of confirmation and recognition of joint good work and commitment.

The Chairperson emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina faces serious work, with unexpected challenges that we are facing, which do not fit into our European path and our European commitment. She stressed that the surprising reaction of High Representative Schmidt caught all political actors off guard, thereby roughly interrupting the very good synergy and work of the coalition at the state level, given that amendments to the Election Law
are already in procedure by the relevant ministry.

At the end of the meeting, Chairperson Krišto emphasized the need to continue the reform process in the interest of the sustainability, security, and European future of BiH, a country of equal constituent peoples and
others who live in it.
