(Patria) - Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto emphasized that there is full political and institutional consensus in Bosnia and
Herzegovina regarding the country's European path.
Addressing the leaders' panel “Western Balkans: Expansion/Enlargement”, as part of the
Bled Strategic Forum, Chairwoman Krišto recalled the complexity of the constitutional
structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but stressed that, despite all the complexity of political
circumstances and the functioning of the government, when it comes to European integration in Bosnia and
Herzegovina, there is general consensus.
She said that the current Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has made a
huge step forward in the previous period, aligning a good part of its legislation with EU legislation, and fully
aligning its foreign and security policy with the policy of the European Union.
Chairwoman Krišto said that Bosnia and Herzegovina expects the opening of
accession negotiations with the European Union very soon, and assessed that the EU should more clearly
commit to membership in the European family, both for Bosnia and Herzegovina and for all
countries of the region.
