"Crime Stoppers" in June: 282 calls and 17 useful tips received

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) registered a total of 282 calls to the "Krimolovci" telephone line in June 2015, reports the Patria News Agency.

In the mentioned period, 17 useful pieces of information about committed or planned criminal offenses and perpetrators were received from citizens, based on which the same number of criminal intelligence reports were compiled.

In addition to the above, 30 reports were received through the electronic form for reporting criminal offenses, established on the SIPA website in February this year, of which 18 were useful pieces of information about committed or planned criminal offenses and perpetrators, based on which the same number of criminal intelligence reports were compiled.

The majority of information related to unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs and weapons. Out of the total number of received information via "Krimolovci" and the electronic form, 35, along with reports, were forwarded for further processing to the competent police authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and SIPA acted on eight of them.

During the reporting period, 23 feedback pieces of information were received from competent police and other authorities, related to previously submitted information received via "Krimolovci" or the electronic form for reporting criminal offenses. Based on this, it was determined that the actions taken on the mentioned information resulted in the submission of two reports on committed criminal offenses and perpetrators to the competent prosecutor's office.

In addition to the above, SIPA police officers provided 112 pieces of advice to citizens who contacted them via the anonymous and free telephone number "Krimolovci" – 080 020 505.
