Crime Stoppers in August: 270 calls received and 18 pieces of useful information

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) registered 270 calls on the "Crime Stoppers" hotline in August 2017, reports the Patria agency.

In the said period, 14 pieces of useful information were received from citizens regarding committed or planned criminal acts and perpetrators, on the basis of which an equal number of criminal-intelligence reports were compiled.

In addition, via the electronic form for reporting criminal acts, 71 reports were received, of which 14 were useful information about committed or planned criminal acts and perpetrators, on the basis of which an equal number of criminal-intelligence reports were compiled.

The largest number of information related to the illegal trade in narcotic drugs. Of the total number of received information via "Crime Stoppers" and the electronic form, 32 were forwarded for further processing to the competent police authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and SIPA acted on six of them.

During the reporting period, 15 feedback responses were received from competent police and other authorities related to previously submitted information received via "Crime Stoppers" or the electronic form for reporting criminal acts.

In addition, SIPA police officers provided 94 pieces of advice to citizens who contacted them via the anonymous and free phone number "Crime Stoppers" – 080 020 505.
