CrimeStoppers: Citizens report dealers, abuse of power, and other criminal offenses

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) registered a total of 396 calls to the "CrimeStoppers" telephone line in October 2014, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

In the mentioned period, 80 useful pieces of information about committed or planned criminal offenses and their perpetrators were received from citizens, based on which the same number of reports were compiled.

The largest number of information related to the criminal offense of unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs (17), abuse of position or authority (16), and other criminal offenses (17).

Out of the total number of received information, 80, along with reports, were forwarded for further processing to the competent police authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and SIPA also acted on six of them.

During the reporting period, 60 feedback responses were received from competent police authorities, related to previously submitted information received through "CrimeStoppers".

- Based on this, it was determined that the actions taken on the mentioned information resulted in the submission of two reports on committed criminal offenses and perpetrators to the competent prosecutor's offices, and three reports were submitted for assessment - the statement said.

In addition to the above, SIPA police officers provided 130 pieces of advice to citizens who contacted them via the anonymous and free telephone number "CrimeStoppers" - 080 020 505.
