The pilgrimage to Ajvaz-dedo's rock has begun

The central event of the Days of Ajvazovica is being held today in Prusac, which began on June 6, writes the Patria News Agency. This year's motto of Ajvazovica is "Towards Ramadan, with prayers for the homeland and native land".

Ajvazovica is a traditional pilgrimage of Bosniaks to the split rock on Mount Šuica. According to legend, the rock split when Ajvaz-dedo, a pious man, prayed in the early years of Islam's arrival in these areas for water to flow through it to Prusac, then Akhisar (White City).

In recent years, this traditional gathering of believers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as from all over Europe, has grown into an international cultural and religious manifestation whose contents are organized in eight cities of central Bosnia.
