Millions in investments to renovate and equip the office of the FBiH President

(Patria) - The Service for Joint Affairs of the Bodies and Institutions of FBiH has selected a company that will perform construction-craft and electrical installation works on the adaptation of part of the 16th floor of the FBiH Government building, writes Akta.ba.

The works, with a total value of 541,362 BAM or 633,393 BAM with VAT, have been entrusted to the Sarajevo-based company Kolinvest.

According to previous announcements, this project includes a comprehensive renovation of the interior of the 16th floor, including the renewal of walls, ceilings, and floors, partial replacement of hardware, and the procurement of new furniture.

The interior renovation project for the 16th floor was prepared by the company Ledić arhitektura. In accordance with the project task, a renovation of the entire interior is planned, which will not only include aesthetic changes but also functional adaptations of the space.

"The formation of the President's office is planned by removing and adding partitions in the existing offices. By removing the partition in front of the President's office, a waiting area and a workspace for the secretary will be created. A specific request from the future user of the space is an auxiliary room that will be used by the staff," the project states.

The adaptation works will be carried out in two phases. The first phase includes construction works such as laying new flooring, works on walls and ceilings, installation of new interior hardware, repainting of existing carpentry, and reinstallation of electrical installations.

The second phase focuses on carpentry works, including measuring and manufacturing carpentry positions, procurement of furniture, reupholstering, and painting of existing furniture. Furthermore, the replacement of existing lighting fixtures and sockets, as well as the installation of new electrical installations according to the project, are planned.

Supervision over the implementation of the adaptation project will be carried out by the company CPK d.o.o. Banja Luka, for a total fee of 18,300.00 BAM or 21,411 BAM with VAT.

After the adaptation, the renewal of furniture is also planned. For these purposes, a tender has already been issued for the procurement and delivery of furniture and equipment for the needs of the Office of the President and two Vice-Presidents of FBiH in Sarajevo.

The estimated total value of the contract excluding VAT is 376,760.00 BAM (440,809 BAM with VAT).



In the tender documentation for the procurement of furniture and furnishings, along with detailed descriptions and characteristics, photos of the chairs, tables, and sofas they wish to procure have been included.

"Classic sofa. Made of metal, wood, and textile. Dimensions 280x102x65 cm. Four cushions measuring 45x115 cm. Smaller decorative cushions 45x45 cm. Color: dirty grey. Design: Clean lines, smooth finishes, and modern shapes that blend well with various interior design styles.

Materials: Use of high-quality materials such as premium upholstery fabrics, leather, and durable frames for longevity and comfort. Seating: upholstered seats, cushions, and backrests. Product such as Harles sofa Sitform or an equally valuable product. Calculation per delivered, supplied, and installed piece of furniture," the tender documentation states.

The furniture they wish to procure can be found with a simple online search of showrooms in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For example, the mentioned sofa can be found in the offer of the SitForm showroom in Sarajevo, which last year furnished the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton for 3,131 BAM. This is a company owned by Kenan Zvizdić, the son of Denis Zvizdić.

Therefore, the total costs incurred so far for equipping the Office of the President and two Vice-Presidents amount to 1,095,613 BAM, raising serious questions about the justification of these costs. The fact that the details of the tender documentation for furniture procurement are very precisely defined, which may limit competition among bidders, is particularly noteworthy.
