End of May: 546,281 Employed in FBiH, Most Aged 36 to 55

(Patria) - The Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH informs the public that taxpayers in the Federation of BiH paid 3,670,877,602 KM in public revenues in the period January-May 2026.

As of May 31, 2026, the number of active business entities, including business units and branches, in the Federation of BiH was 136,562, while as of May 31, 2025, the number of active business entities, including business units and branches, in the Federation of BiH was 133,593.

The number of employees according to the employee's place of residence as of May 31, 2026, is 546,281.

According to official records of the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH as of May 31, 2026, 168,225 people aged up to 35 were employed, or 30.79%, and 378,056 people aged over 36 were employed, or 69.21%. As of May 31, 2026, in the Federation of BiH, 301,702 men, or 55.23%, and 244,579 women, or 44.77%, were employed.

According to official data from the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH as of May 31, 2026, a total of 111,226 fiscal devices were installed in the Federation of BiH, through which a total turnover of 6,318,176,665.85 KM was recorded in May 2026. Compared to May 31, 2025, the number of fiscal devices increased by 4,027, and the recorded turnover in May 2026 is higher compared to May 2025 by 1,563,785.15 KM.

In the period January-May 2026, a total turnover of 30,516,471,473.20 KM was recorded, representing an increase of 1,255,833,716.42 KM, or 4.29%, compared to the same period in 2025, when total turnover amounted to 29,260,637,756.78 KM.

The municipality with the largest number of fiscal devices as of May 31, 2026, is the Centar Sarajevo Municipality, in whose area 7,280 fiscal devices were installed.

The municipality with the highest total turnover recorded through fiscal devices in May 2026 is the Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality, in whose area a total turnover of 482,410,365.99 KM was recorded.

The Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH calls on all taxpayers to operate legally and to record each individually realized turnover through a fiscal device and issue a receipt to the customer. By issuing receipts, taxpayers will not be exposed to sanctions and measures such as temporary closure of facilities and payment of high fines.
