By the end of summer, the highway from Zenica to the gates of Herzegovina

Work on the largest active construction site on Corridor Vc on the Sarajevo West – Tarčin section is in its final phase, confirmed the state-owned company Autoceste Federacije BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP). The next steps include equipping the tunnel, installing traffic signage, and finalizing construction works.

The new 20.2 kilometers of highway in the Federation will be open to traffic by the end of this summer, making the section from Zenica South to Tarčin fully operational.

- This is an exceptionally strategic transport project for BiH, consisting of three sub-sections: Sarajevo West – Lepenica (10.1 km), Lepenica – Suhodol (5.5 km), and Suhodol – Tarčin (4.6 km). The works are being carried out by the renowned Turkish company Cengiz Insaat. More than 2,000 workers from about 20 local companies are directly engaged in the construction, and the active machinery on the construction site includes over 300 trucks, 100 construction machines, and several sets of tunnel equipment – the company further states.

Autoceste FBiH today, as part of regular media updates on the status of construction sites, organized a visit and tour of the entire section for journalists before its official opening to traffic, reports Patria.
