Kovačević: The Srebrenica Resolution brought nothing good to BiH and Bosniaks

The Srebrenica Resolution brought nothing good to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosniaks, according to the Association "Friends of BiH", reports the Patria news agency.

The Association notes that instead of the world unanimously honoring the victims of the greatest genocide on European soil after World War II these days, attempts are being made at the UN Security Council to downplay the horrors of the Srebrenica genocide, and doubt is being cast in the eyes of billions of people worldwide about what actually happened in Srebrenica in 1995.

The Association "Friends of BiH" questions what the ultimate goal and fate of the resolution is and why its proposers did not consider that their resolution would have a counter-effect on the Srebrenica genocide itself?!

The President of the Association, Goran Kovačević, a security expert, separates the British resolution from the verdict of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, which unequivocally ruled that genocide occurred in Srebrenica.

Kovačević further explains that the Association views the British resolution on Srebrenica exclusively as a reflection of the attitudes of UN Security Council member states and their policies towards Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ultimately, the attitude of the Security Council members towards the genocide in Srebrenica is also their direct attitude towards the International Court, which they themselves established, and which ruled once and for all that genocide against Bosniaks occurred in Srebrenica, reports NAP.

Great Britain submitted the Resolution on Srebrenica to the UN Security Council. The resolution underwent seven amendments at the request of Serbia and Russia, but has not yet been adopted.
