Kovačević: Nobody is ready for the conflict that politicians are provoking

Professor at the Faculty of Criminal Justice, Criminology and Security Studies Goran Kovačević warned that the demonstration of nationalism from one side will give birth to the same from the other side, commenting on the increasingly strong warmongering rhetoric, calls for war, referendums, and fear being provoked in BiH.

He told Radio Free Europe that nobody is ready for conflict, but politicians are certainly working on provoking conflict.

- The exercise with the police of another country where an equality sign is placed between the Serb people in RS and Serbia is problematic from the aspect of nationalist tensions before the elections. There is no positive policy, and the negative one is certainly evident. Bosniak, Serb, and Croat nationalism are all strengthening. Therefore, the move of any nationalist option that is warmongering strengthens the nationalism of all three peoples - Kovačević assesses.
