Kovačević: Intellectual Honesty in Public Appearances

It is undeniable that Goran Kovačević, a young professor at the Faculty of Criminal Justice, Criminology and Security Studies in Sarajevo, marked the year 2015.
Completely new thoughts, brave, open, extremely critical reviews of the work of security agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, many have assessed as a rarely seen energy in our society, which gives hope.

This security expert, in the year that is ending, very bravely pointed out that security agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not managed by professional staff, but by party loyalists, thereby endangering his own existence in society.

And, security is precisely one of the biggest challenges of post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina.

While others reported according to a template, Kovačević bravely, but with arguments, on his own, also raised the issue of the unjust arrest of some members of the Salafi movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose criminal responsibility prosecutors have rarely proven, but they and their families, after spectacular raids by special forces into their bedrooms, accompanied by TV cameras, have remained forever labeled in society.

Kovačević also spoke bravely and openly about the fact that radical circles in BiH are not created by some third forces, but are a product of Bosnia and Herzegovina's neglect of the most vulnerable members of its society.

The young security expert did not spare the citizens themselves. He is surprised by the sluggishness of about four million Bosnians and Herzegovinians, among whom are a large number of young and educated people, who nevertheless allow their country to be plundered.
