Kovačević: General Milorad Dodik and the RS Army

BiH, (Patria) - Large quantities of automatic weapons will be delivered to the RS Ministry of Interior just a few days before the official opening of the Training Center for RS MoI members where, according to the Memorandum signed by entity Minister of Interior Dragan Lukač in Moscow in 2015, training will be conducted by special forces from Russia

Žurnal reported that the RS MoI is procuring 2,500 automatic rifles for the needs of the police of this BiH entity.

Professor at the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies in Sarajevo, Dr. Goran Kovačević warns that the procurement of weapons - whose primary purpose is use in war conditions - is material evidence for the claims of the president of this BiH entity, Milorad Dodik, about the military capabilities of the entity's MoI.

"So the message is clear - the territorial integrity and indisputable authority of institutions in the RS is guaranteed by the army codenamed RS MoI," believes Dr. Kovačević in an interview with the Patria news agency.

He particularly warns about, as he says, the alarming fact that the same people are behind the formation of both paramilitary formations and the militarization of the RS police. He believes that paramilitary units have the task of intimidating the political opposition and returning Bosniaks, and at a suitable moment, causing an incident that will open space for the extensive use of military units of the MoI in the "protection of Republika Srpska."

"If intimidation does not cause a mass exodus of Bosniaks from the territory of the RS, staged terrorist attacks by paramilitary formations, which will leave behind the signature of some 'terrorist Islamic organization,' will certainly legalize and legitimize the violence that the RS MoI will carry out against 'identified terrorists and their accomplices' - and those are all those who are political dissidents and all those Bosniaks who did not understand the message that they should leave the territory of the RS."

Kovačević believes that the official authorities in the RS entity have fallen into the trap of their own lies. The bad moves they are making can no longer be justified or concealed, even in the eyes of their most loyal supporters.

"The constant emphasis on the terrorist threat, whose bearers are legendary as ordinary Bosniaks, 'who are strategically deployed across the territory of the RS to carry out attacks on Serbs,' becomes evidence of the madness into which certain fascist structures of power in this entity have fallen. It is wrong to view this as part of a pre-election game, because that is not what it is about. The '200,000 Islamic extremists in BiH,' a number handled by Milorad Dodik's 'experts and media,' corresponds to the number of Bosniak returnees to the RS. So, Bosniaks living in the RS are those to whom the story about jihadists refers, while the FBiH is marked as a logistical base for these 'infiltrated jihadists in the RS,'" says Dr. Kovačević.

He warns that the fact that at this moment in the RS the number of individual weapons is significantly higher than in the Federation, although the Federation has almost twice as many inhabitants, should be an alarm for all law enforcement agencies, an alarm for representatives of the international community, and especially for NATO forces deployed in the region. "It is necessary to bring the possibility of weapons procurement under control as soon as possible, and to sanction all individuals or groups participating in this type of arming of the population."

Commenting on the fact that paramilitary and legal military structures in the RS entity are trained by special forces from Russia, Dr. Kovačević believes that in the event of a possible conflict, both structures would constitute a military force under the command of Milorad Dodik.
