Kovačević: The European Union did not grasp the ISIS problem, and now the war has come to France

ISIS is winning because all countries of the international coalition do not know what they are doing. This is an attempt to transfer the conflict from Syria to Europe and to dilute the battlefield. ISIS counts on European Muslims, under pressure and frustration, to engage in active resistance, Goran Kovačević, professor at the Faculty of Criminal Justice, Criminology and Security Studies and national security expert, told N1, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

He said that so many bombs have been dropped and offensives carried out, and yet attacks like the one in Paris are still happening.

- France is at war in Syria, and it has now come to them. The bill has come due - Kovačević concluded.

The question arises whether the cause of these unfortunate events is French foreign policy or a host of young people who are educated in France, live there and speak French, and then kill French people.

 

- France's main problem is politics, both internal and external. What message are the French sending that some people born in France are only second or third-generation migrants - Kovačević wondered.

He said that it is not unknown that intelligence services have provoked conflicts around the world. He also stated that "France's intelligence service is not serious enough to counter a more serious attack, as they have done little to protect themselves and the European Union."

It is clear that the EU has not adequately grasped the ISIS problem.

- Outside of Islamic countries, the EU has the largest concentration of Muslims in the world. The EU cannot act like the US towards Muslims. It must be understood that Islam is part of European daily life - he said.

- In northern Iraq, ISIS operated for years. It is not a conspiracy theory that with the withdrawal of Iraqi forces from that position, ISIS came into possession of large weaponry and a huge amount of money in the bank. No one gave them money, it was left for them to take - Kovačević explained.

Minister of Security Dragan Mektić said that security agencies have increased the level of security.

- In BiH, we have groups identified as radical, while the current government and politicians led by SDA and the Islamic Community are doing nothing. They must start acting adequately - Kovačević said.
