Kovač: Đušinca also stayed in BiH in May, now banned from entering for five years

The BiH Service for Foreigners' Affairs has imposed a deportation measure with a five-year ban on entering BiH territory on Elma Đušinca from Kosovska Mitrovica, who was arrested in Kalesija on suspicion of links to terrorism, confirmed the Head of the Operational Support Sector of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, Rade Kovač.

In the wider Zvornik area, the individual E. Đ. illegally entered BiH on November 22, and the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, within its jurisdiction, after SIPA handed over this person, did its job – says Kovač.

He added that Elma has been placed in the Immigration Center and that the extradition process has been initiated. When asked if Serbia had requested extradition, Kovač said:

– This is a procedure in accordance with the law, and we do not need a request from another country. She stayed in BiH illegally and will be extradited to Serbia – Kovač added.

The head further explained that the migration regulations were violated, and therefore the measure of banning her from entering BiH for the next five years was imposed.

– The reason why she is of security interest, apart from staying illegally, is not within our jurisdiction but that of the BiH Prosecutor's Office and partner agencies – Kovač added, declining to confirm whether she is suspected of terrorism.
We do not determine the reasons for stay, only whether she is staying legally or not in BiH. We have imposed a deportation measure. She entered BiH on November 22 – Kovač said.

Elma had previously legally stayed in BiH during the summer period in the area of Tuzla Canton.

– The Service registered her stay of one month in BiH during May and June – Kovač added.
