Košarac requests session of the Intelligence-Security Committee: Helez claims there are training camps for paramilitary formations in RS

(Patria) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac requested from the Chairperson Borjana Krišto to convene an urgent session of the Intelligence-Security Committee as soon as possible regarding the claims made by the Minister of Defense of BiH Zukan Helez about the existence of military training camps and paramilitary formations on the territory of Republika Srpska. Helez made this claim on the show Pressing on N1.

"I am requesting an urgent session so that, together with the leadership of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH, we can determine the truthfulness of Minister Helez's claims and obtain an official position from the OSA of BiH," stated Košarac, who is also a member of the Intelligence-Security Committee.

He said it is his right and duty to request full information from the competent authorities regarding the insinuations of the Minister of Defense.

"It is extremely dangerous when the Minister of Defense, without any evidence, publicly makes such claims against Republika Srpska. This can be characterized as inciting national intolerance and fear. With such actions, he does not contribute to the stabilization of the situation in BiH at all," said Košarac.

He emphasized that it is obvious that Helez is consciously participating in a negative campaign against Republika Srpska and anti-Russian hysteria, which is completely unacceptable behavior.

"His claims that alleged military training in RS territory is conducted by Russians confirm that Helez has adopted the narratives of US Ambassador Michael Murphy and other foreigners about the existence of malignant Russian influence in BiH, as well as about Republika Srpska pursuing secessionist and militant policies, which is a notorious untruth and nonsense," stated Košarac.
