Košarac responded to Krišto: The BiH Courts Law has not been harmonized, it is pretentious to announce it for the next session

(Patria) - Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac said today that, given that the working group for the judiciary has not yet harmonized the text of the BiH Courts Law, it would be pretentious for some unharmonized version to be on the agenda of the first next session of the BiH Council of Ministers.

– Such a solution will certainly not receive the support of ministers from RS in the Council of Ministers, because we will not vote for a text of the law to which RS has not given a positive opinion – Košarac stated.

He says that his position, respecting political ambitions, is that we should stick to the current practice, i.e., fully harmonize the law and then send it into procedure to the Council of Ministers and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

He adds that this is the best way to ensure the law's passage.

Košarac said that there is enough time and that the working group needs to be allowed to finish its work.

– Our position is that it is necessary to ensure the independence of the Appellate Division's work, i.e., to prevent foreign influence and their conditioning. That is why we insist that the seat of the Appellate Division be in RS, Košarac emphasized, RTRS reports.

Chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers Borjana Krišto announced that the BiH Courts Law should also be on the agenda of the next session, scheduled for Tuesday.
