Kos arrives at BiH Presidency, Cvijanović does not show up

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos started her visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

Commissioner Kos arrived at the BiH Presidency building for her first meeting, where she met with member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović.

Namely, the Chairperson Željko Komšić is in New York where he is expected to address the UN General Assembly.

Member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović (SNSD) did not attend the meeting, and Milorad Dodik announced a boycott of Marta Kos's visit by his party's officials the day before.

After the BiH Presidency, Kos will proceed to a meeting with the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Borjana Krišto.

As part of her visit, Kos will also meet with the President of the Central Election Commission of BiH Irena Hadžiabdić, and then visit Brus, where she will tour a playground and a clinic financed by EU funds with Mayor Bojo Gašanović, and meet with local mountaineering associations and youth.

The Commissioner will attend the signing ceremony of contracts at the City Hall in Sarajevo for the construction of the new Museum of Contemporary Art Ars Aevi, financed through the EU4Culture program.

On Tuesday, September 23, Commissioner Kos will open the conference "Critical Voices Under Pressure" at Europe House in Sarajevo and participate in an event with youth and athletes from BiH, including Amel Tuka, organized by the Olympic Committee of BiH as part of the 10th European Week of Sport in Visoko.

Commissioner Kos will meet with the Mayor of Visoko Mirza Ganić, as well as city councilors.

Kos will also visit Vareš, which is part of the project "Strengthening Trust and Cohesion in Communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina – WE CAN DO BETTER", financed by the EU and implemented in cooperation with the United Nations in BiH, the OSCE Mission to BiH, and the Council of Europe Office in BiH.

On Wednesday, September 24, Commissioner Kos will address the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Milorad Dodik, whom Kos previously called a separatist, and separatists will not be EU interlocutors, said that the SNSD in the House of Representatives of the PSBiH will boycott the address.
