Nearly 12,000 People Infected with Coronavirus

(Patria) - The number of people infected with the new coronavirus in China has risen to over 12,000, with 259 deaths so far, Chinese health authorities announced.

The health services in Hubei province, the epicenter of the coronavirus crisis, reported 1347 new cases of infection in that province alone, bringing the total number of infected in Hubei to 7153.

The number of infected and deceased from coronavirus in China is expected to be even higher when other regions release their latest statistics. Drones with loudspeakers are flying over the streets in China, urging people to wear masks. 

Regarding the global situation, it is as follows: infections with the virus have been confirmed in 20 countries worldwide. The first cases were also confirmed yesterday in Italy, Great Britain, Spain, Russia, and Sweden.

Almost all fatalities have been recorded in Hubei province, the epicenter of the infection.

- Thirteen cases have been recorded in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Several had visited Wuhan.

- Seven cases have been recorded in the Macao Special Administrative Region.

- One case has been recorded in Tibet.

Vietnam: Six cases.
