Coronavirus in BiH claims another 14 lives, 496 new infections

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the last 24 hours, 496 people were newly infected in BiH, of which 329 in the FBiH, 146 in the RS, while 21 people were infected in the Brčko District. 14 people died, five in the FBiH, seven in the RS, and two in Brčko.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 1,945 samples were reported to the Institute for Public Health of the Federation of BiH, of which 329 were positive for SARS-CoV-2.

New cases were registered in all cantons in the Federation of BiH.

So far, a total of 1,019,579 samples have been tested, and SARS-CoV-2 has been confirmed in 182,417 people.

In the past 24 hours, 5 people died in the Federation of BiH, from the Tuzla Canton, Sarajevo Canton and Canton 10.

The total number of deaths in the Federation of BiH is 7,285.

146 new infections in the RS, seven people died

Since the last report on the epidemiological situation in the RS, in the last 24 hours, testing of 664 laboratory samples was performed at the Institute for Public Health of the RS, the University Clinical Center of the RS, the University Hospital in Foča, and the hospitals Sv. Vračevi in Bijeljina and Sv. Apostol Luka in Doboj, and the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was confirmed in 146 people.

These are 56 men and 90 women, of whom 28 are younger, 76 middle-aged and 42 older.

By place of residence, 32 people are from Banja Luka, 15 from Trebinje, 13 from Gradiška, 10 from Bijeljina, nine from Sokolac, seven each from East Novo Sarajevo and Laktaši, five from Čelinac, four each from Doboj and Ljubinje, three each from Zvornik, Teslić, Ugljevik, Šamac and Šipovo, two each from Berkovići, Višegrad, Vlasenica, Derventa, Pale, Prijedor and Prnjavor, and one each from Bileća, Bratunac, Kozarska Dubica, Kotor Varoš, Lopare, Mrkonjić Grad, Novi Grad, Osjak, Rogatica, Srbac and Han Pijesak.

In the last 24 hours, seven deaths were reported to the Institute for Public Health. These are six men and one woman, middle-aged and older, from Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Doboj, Kozarska Dubica, Laktaši, Novi Grad and Petrovo.

So far, 92,549 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the RS, and a total of 5,409 people who tested positive for the coronavirus have died.

The total number of hospitalized in the smaller BiH entity is 422, 167 in the University Clinical Center, and 255 in other hospitals. 45 people are on respirators (28 in the University Clinical Center of the Republika Srpska, 17 in other hospitals).

21 new infections in the Brčko District, two people died

Today, 21 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the Brčko District of BiH. Two people died.

Of the total number of hospitalized patients, six are vaccinated.
