The International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) was visited today by US Ambassador Maureen Cormack and French Ambassador Claire Bodonyi, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
ICMP Director General Kathryne Bomberger said that finding the missing is an essential element in the post-war recovery in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We recall that in December last year, the ICMP officially obtained the status of an organization, established by an international agreement, with all its rights.
- More than 80 percent of BiH citizens stated in a recent survey that they believe efforts to find the missing contribute to reconciliation - said Bomberger, adding that the search for those still listed as missing must continue.
The ICMP is the only international organization dedicated solely to ensuring government cooperation in the search for persons missing as a result of armed conflict, human rights violations, natural disasters, organized crime, and other causes, the ICMP announced.
