Kordić made it clear to the Islamic Community that the construction of 'Mevlana' will not happen, at least for now

(Patria) - The City of Mostar announced that the placement of a sign in the parking area next to the construction site of the Croatian National Theatre, which announces works on the construction of the Intercultural Center "Mevlana", is a "classic example of provocation and that such a pattern of behavior deserves condemnation."

"This form of action is a classic example of provocation and illegal actions because at this location the City of Mostar has not issued, nor is it in the process of issuing, a permit for the construction of a facility whose name is visible on the illegally placed sign.

The City of Mostar will further take legal steps to remove this sign from the subject location. Such a pattern of behavior deserves condemnation, and the question is who benefits from provoking incidents and raising tensions in the city of Mostar in this way," the statement adds.

Exactly this reaction from the city administration in Mostar was announced by federal representative Sanel Kajan (DF) in a brief statement for the Patria News Agency.

Let us recall, the Assembly of the Islamic Community (MIZ) Mostar unanimously adopted today a conclusion accepting the conceptual design of the new concept of the Intercultural Center "Mevlana" at the Lakišića harem site.

The concept was created by the Project Bureau Modular d.o.o., and MIZ Mostar obligated the Executive Board to request from the competent city authorities the urban-technical conditions for the start of construction of this building.

In this way, as stated, the original idea of building an Islamic cultural center was changed into the construction of the "Mevlana" Center. However, judging by the statement from the Mostar city administration, headed by Mario Kordić from Čović's HDZ BiH, the construction of "Mevlana" will not happen, at least for now.
