Korajlić: Citizens of Krajina are tired, the situation could become complicated

(Patria) - A meeting of representatives of the BiH Border Police, led by Zoran Galić, and Security Minister Selmo Cikotić was held in Zvornik. The migrant crisis and the meeting were analyzed for N1 by Nedžad Korajlić, a professor at the Faculty of Criminal Justice, Criminology and Security Studies at the University of Sarajevo.

He stated that BiH needs the help of FRONTEX and that he is pleased with the good cooperation between the RS entity and police structures.

Our border has often been porous due to the lack of cooperation between entity police and state police agencies.

“This is a significant step forward, and if an agreement with FRONTEX is signed, it will provide significant human and material resources, and we will be able to control the border much better.

A bottleneck is forming in western Bosnia, and we are reaching a breaking point where agencies and citizens are exhausted, and the situation could become complicated,” said Korajlić.
He added that the Border Police is working with a significant lack of human resources, and that the Border Police has been trying.

“General security is important to us, but it is not only the responsibility of the Border Police but also of those who finance it. Of course, there has been declarative, but not concrete support,” said Korajlić.

He also added that if we lack resources and personnel, the BiH Armed Forces should be engaged, NAP reports.

“They would not be performing police duties, but guarding the border,” said Korajlić.

Regarding the events in the Una-Sana Canton, Korajlić says they are working there with superhuman efforts.

“We see a bottleneck forming. Croats are protecting their border, and we should be protecting our border in the east,” added Korajlić.
