(Patria) - The Civil Protection Headquarters of Sarajevo Canton continues with activities on the implementation of preventive measures and activities aimed at preventing the spread of infectious disease caused by coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Sarajevo Canton area. In order to coordinate all planned activities, the Headquarters has issued a clarification of its Order, which tasks municipal civil protection headquarters to, in cooperation with the Pensioners' Association, the Red Cross, and social work centers, create lists of persons over 65 years of age living alone in their municipalities, in order to provide them with support in delivering necessary life supplies, all with the aim of its faster realization.
By order of the Headquarters, the Veterinary Affairs Service continues with activities that include planned disinfection of public facilities and surfaces. We also remind that yesterday, a team from the Headquarters visited the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Sarajevo, in order to see on the spot how the Order related to the temporary transfer of one wing of the building of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo for the needs of potential treatment of patients infected with coronavirus is being implemented.
Regarding the activities of the municipal civil protection headquarters from the Sarajevo Canton area, a number of measures and decisions have been taken, among which the one adopted by the Stari Grad Municipal CZ Headquarters should be highlighted. This is a decision to allocate financial resources in the amount of 400,000 KM for providing financial assistance to socially endangered categories of the population - the elderly and infirm in need, as well as new mothers, 20,000 KM for the procurement of protective equipment - masks, gloves, disinfectants, and non-contact thermometers for the needs of the protection and rescue service formed in the Stari Grad Health Center, 6,000 KM for the procurement of fuel for the needs of the service formed in the Vratnik Fire Department, and 5,000 KM to the Stari Grad Red Cross for assistance to socially endangered population who are their beneficiaries - cancer patients, persons in need of food and hygiene supplies. A decision has also been made to provide certain financial relief for business entities operating in this municipality.
The Centar Municipal CZ Headquarters has also adopted a set of measures and decisions, among which we highlight the approval of the procurement of two sets of thermal cameras for healthcare institutions in this municipality, and one ambulance van for the needs of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. This headquarters, at the request of this clinical center, delivered and installed a tent at the entrance for patient triage. The Novi Grad Municipal CZ Headquarters, among other activities in the past 10 days, has procured and distributed about 15,000 protective medical masks, 15,000 pairs of protective gloves, and 450 liters of disinfectant, and continues to work on procuring new quantities of protective equipment and supplies.
Among the activities undertaken by the Hadžići Municipal CZ Headquarters is sending an appeal to the competent higher-level authorities to adopt and concretize the measures that need to be taken towards persons spreading panic.
