Coordination of Trade Unions Supports Healthcare and Water Supply Workers, Demands Meeting with Uk

(Patria) - The Coordination of Trade Unions held a meeting on Friday, where it was decided
to give full support to healthcare workers and trade unions, who announced a general strike in all healthcare institutions in Sarajevo Canton after failed
negotiations.

"The Coordination of Trade Unions reminds the management of KJKP Vodovod i kanalizacija Sarajevo that very little time is left to respect the guaranteed rights of workers before a general strike occurs in that company, and full support was given to the Trade Union Organization of KJKP
Vodovod i kanalizacija Sarajevo," the statement said.

The Coordination of Trade Unions noted that the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, has not
responded to the letter sent to him on 06.07.2023, and it was decided to send him another
invitation for a meeting to discuss the agreement on the base for salary calculation
in 2024, corrections/amendments to collective agreements and harmonization of hourly wages in healthcare,
as well as the non-compliance with workers' rights in the utility sector.

"Hope was expressed that institutional social dialogue between the Government and the Coordination will soon
begin and that there will be no need for the Coordination of Trade Unions to undertake other activities to
protect the rights of over 20,000 workers in Sarajevo Canton," the statement said. .
