Union Coordination dissatisfied with outcome of meeting in the Government of Sarajevo Canton: Protests announced for November 29

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton at today's meeting with the Union Coordination, which lasted only half an hour, reiterated its stance that it wants to increase workers' salaries in Sarajevo Canton but has no money and cannot guarantee that it will respect any potential increase in workers' salaries in Sarajevo Canton.

"Also, they emphasized that due to the reduction of the weight coefficient, they do not have funds to pay aid to workers according to the Decree of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Government of Sarajevo Canton requested understanding and support from the Union Coordination.

The Union Coordination is dissatisfied with the outcome of the negotiations, which can be declared unsuccessful. It was clearly stated at the meeting that what the Government of Sarajevo Canton is doing is a reflection of the policy of the Government of Sarajevo Canton and a poor attitude towards workers in Sarajevo Canton.

The Union Coordination today sent seven requests for meetings with all clubs in the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton and seven requests for meetings with the presidents of the cantonal committees of all political parties participating in the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, and in the next seven days expects invitations to these meetings, where support for the demands of the Union Coordination is expected, which may determine what further activities the Union Coordination will undertake.

The Union Coordination today, after unsuccessful negotiations with the Government of Sarajevo Canton, made a decision to organize protests. The protests will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024," the Union Coordination announced.

Incidentally, the Union Coordination consists of the Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Cantonal Committee of the Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of Sarajevo Canton, the Police Union of Sarajevo Canton, the Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees of Sarajevo Canton, the Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees in State Bodies, the Judiciary and Public Institutions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Coordination Committee of Union Organizations of Sarajevo Canton, the Union of Secondary and Higher Education, Upbringing, Science and Culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Cantonal Committee of Sarajevo Canton, the Union of Healthcare Workers in Sarajevo Canton, and the Independent Union of Workers in the Communal Economy of Sarajevo Canton
