Konzum's Tricks: To Get to Bosnian Milk, You First Have to Remove a 12 kg Package

The retail chain Konzum represents a major problem for Bosnian-Herzegovinian products, as it gives them less attractive spots on shelves, or completely pushes them out with imported items, domestic producers in BiH have been warning for years, but the authorities do nothing to help them, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

The photograph sent to the Patria editorial office by a reader shows a package of unopened milk from the Sarajevo dairy „Milkos“, which is covered by Konzum's milk. This is a seemingly unimportant, but actually very clever trick by Konzum's merchandisers, claims the reader, who adds that he is a psychologist, and that in practice these methods of influencing customer awareness are widespread and successful.

In the case shown in the photograph, to get to the Milkos milk, the customer first has to remove the Konzum milk, open the cardboard package, and only then reach the milk of the BiH producer.

- They are aware at Konzum that most customers will not do that, but will take the milk that is easier to reach – claims this psychologist.

This is just one of the tricks of the retail chain Konzum, which suffocates the BiH economy, reports NAP.
