Logistics Consortium of BiH: Is the state defending 20,000 jobs or are we left to ourselves, has a request been sent to Croatia?

(Patria) - The Logistics Consortium of BiH expects a clear and concrete response from the competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, in accordance with the DECLARATION of carriers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the demands that have been publicly stated for a long time.

"We are posing an open question: have we received any concrete response or credible request sent to the institutions of the Republic of Croatia by our competent institutions? Is it not possible for carriers from Bosnia and Herzegovina to have at least the same status as carriers from Serbia today, who have the full support of their institutions and economic structures?

The Republic of Croatia is one of the most important economic partners and neighbors for Bosnia and Herzegovina, with whom we share intensive trade and transport flows. Precisely for this reason, we expect a fair, correct, and equal relationship, based on good neighborly relations and common economic interests," the Consortium states.

They expect answers to very clear questions from the competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina:

- Have concrete activities been undertaken to resolve the problems faced by domestic carriers, apart from expressing concern?
- Have the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent a clear and credible request to the Republic of Croatia for BiH carriers to have the same treatment and fair market access?

"Today, we will present individual responsibilities to the public, because numerous promises have been made during the past period, while concrete results are lacking. It does not matter whether the talks were conducted publicly or behind closed doors. What matters is the result – the same fair and correct treatment of carriers from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We remind that producers, exporters, traders, and importers in Bosnia and Herzegovina largely rely on domestic transport companies. Those who do not understand this will soon feel the consequences in the supply chains and in the overall economy of the country. We expect an answer from the competent institutions during the day. It will then be clear whether the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina has the strength and will to defend more than 20,000 workers employed in the logistics and road transport sector – or whether we will be left to ourselves. Good neighborly relations and stable logistics flows have no alternative".

Therefore, they once again call on the competent institutions: it is time for answers and concrete actions.

This evening, the Crisis Staff of the Plenum of the Logistics Consortium of Bosnia and Herzegovina will convene, along with regional coordinators, where a detailed analysis of past activities will be carried out and decisions on the next steps will be made on behalf of the transport sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They state that it is now up to the institutions.

"Carriers and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina expect the state to show responsibility and determination in protecting its own economy," they state.
