Constitutive Session of the Independent Board

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Independent Board of the FBiH Parliament will hold its first constitutive session today after the new composition of the Independent Board was confirmed on May 10, after more than two and a half years. The mandate of the previous composition expired in November 2015.

At today's session, a chairperson will be elected from among the six members of the Independent Board. The Independent Board consists of: Amar Hadžiomerović, Enes Bezdrob, Mirko Miličević, Zdenko Kovač, Branimir Orašanin, and Elfada Gutić.

The mandate of the Deputy Director of the FUP, Ensada Korman, also expires this month, and the procedure for filling this position needs to be carried out.

The Independent Board has a lot of work ahead of it, and it is necessary to control the work of the FUP Director, Dragan Lukač.

Lukač's second term at the head of the FUP was marked by a series of scandals, from the removal of some of the most successful Bosniak candidates in two competitions for cadet recruitment, of which only the first was annulled, to the rewarding of convicted assailant inspector Slaviša Mijanović, who beat a young man in Bjelašnica. Lukač rewarded him with a pistol a few months later "for successful work and contribution." Only after the indictment was filed did Lukač suspend Mijanović. The FUP never informed the public about the results of the internal investigation that was allegedly launched, and the public is disturbed by the fact that a police inspector beat a young man and caused him serious bodily injuries.

Lukač's tenure at the FUP was marked by a complete internal reorganization, the transfer and degradation of staff, promotions based on favoritism rather than ability, uncontrolled spending of funds, and numerous complaints filed against him to prosecutors for abuse of office...

We remind you that Lukač, in order to avoid retirement, erased his own service record for the period from April 7, 1992, to December 12, 1993. Precisely knowing that the Independent Board did not exist, as well as that there was a certain political blockade, Lukač stated that he would remain at the head of the FUP until the end of his term.
