Konaković's Deputy Brkić stated: Sarajevo's Trojka is to blame for BiH's stagnation on the EU path

(Patria) - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Josip Brkić (HDZ BiH) assessed that the Sarajevo Trojka bears the greatest responsibility for the stagnation on BiH's European path, warning that due to the political crisis, an important opportunity in June for progress in the process of opening negotiations with the EU was missed.

"I fear we have lost this June. Since the beginning of the year, we have been calling for stability and the functioning of institutions. Instead, we are witnessing a political crisis that began in January," Brkić told Dnevnik RTVHB.

When asked who is hindering the European path, Brkić stated that those who declaratively advocate most for EU integration are simultaneously the biggest obstacle.

"Individuals from Sarajevo's Trojka bear the greatest responsibility. They initiated the political crisis by expelling the Serb representative from the Collegium of the House of Representatives without any clear plan or agreement," he stated.

Commenting on the demands for the reconstruction of the Council of Ministers, Brkić reminded that a majority in the House of Representatives is necessary for the appointment of new ministers, which he currently does not see existing.

"More importantly, there is no guarantee that a new structure would bring about the passage of decisions in the House of Representatives, the House of Peoples, and the Council of Ministers. An example of this is the Law on the Court of BiH proposed by Peđa Kojović, which was rejected by the votes of Trojka from Republika Srpska," Brkić emphasized.

Given the criticism coming from Sarajevo's Trojka towards HDZ, and especially regarding the relationship and preservation of partnership with Milorad Dodik and SNSD, this response from HDZ followed.

Last week, HDZ President Dragan Čović stated that there would be no reconstruction of the BiH Council of Ministers, that the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Council of Ministers of BiH would not pass, and that it was a finished story.
