Konaković demanded accountability for the death of a 12-year-old boy in Dobrinja

Representatives of the Dobrinja Initiative Sanela Memić and Belma Gijo today submitted to the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konaković the demands of the Dobrinja Initiative aimed at improving living conditions in their neighborhood, among which the key is the arrangement and supervision of sports playgrounds, especially those intended for the children of Dobrinja, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

- Our demands unfortunately arose after a twelve-year-old boy Salih Pačariz lost his life on one of these playgrounds, and this sad event obliges all of us to do something radical to ensure the maximum safety of our children's play - said Memić and invited Prime Minister Konaković to sign the “Petition for the Safety of Our Children's Play“.

Prime Minister Konaković emphasized that he will also be a signatory to the aforementioned online petition and that he fully supports their demands, and that he would have attended the recently organized protest of the citizens of Dobrinja, but could not because he was outside the borders of our country that day.

He also informed them that a meeting has been scheduled for Monday, which he will attend, and together with representatives of all municipalities, they will agree on taking concrete steps to raise the safety of public sports areas, especially children's parks, to the highest level, and the representatives of this initiative will receive comprehensive information from the Prime Minister's office about its outcome.

- I have asked the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs to take all measures and actions to establish the factual situation in the case of the death of the boy Salih Pačariz, as well as any potential responsibility - informed Prime Minister Konaković the representatives of the Dobrinja Initiative, adding that the KS Government has requested all information related to the status of this playground from the Institute for Construction.

He announced that the installation of so-called “safe goals“ on sports playgrounds will be enabled, for which the KS Government already has concrete offers, and which will be part of the solution to this problem.

Belma Gijo emphasized on this occasion that all of them from the Dobrinja Initiative want a systemic solution to this problem, which will also include the amendment and improvement of current legal solutions and the development of new ones.
