Konaković with US Congress delegation: RS entity leadership carries out activities that threaten peace and stability

(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković met on May 24, 2025 in Dayton, Ohio, on the margins of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly spring session, with a delegation of the US Congress, led by Congressman Michael Turner.

The delegation also included Congresswomen Linda Sanchez, Brett Guthrie and Joe Wilson.

On that occasion, Minister Konaković welcomed the interest of the US administration in the countries of the Western Balkans, and especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized that strong US support for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the countries of the Western Balkans in joining the European Union is a guarantee of peace and security in the region. He added that our country expects the continuation of a proactive American role in this process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as support in the implementation of reforms, which are crucial for the functionality and stability of BiH. He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the two countries at the multilateral level.

He informed his interlocutors about the current political situation in our country and the attacks by the leadership of the BiH entity RS, headed by President Milorad Dodik, on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

He warned that these are activities that threaten peace and stability as well as BiH's progress on the path to the EU and NATO.

The congressmen confirmed the commitment of the United States of America to support the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as its progress on the path to the EU and NATO.
