Konaković with ambassadors and head of BiH Mission to EU: Intensify advocacy activities for opening negotiations

(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković held an online meeting today with BiH ambassadors accredited in EU member states and the head of the BiH Mission to the EU.

The focus was on the opening of EU accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is expected next month.

Participants in the online meeting informed Konaković about the activities so far regarding lobbying, advocacy and promoting information about BiH's progress on the EU path in the Union member states where they are accredited.

On that occasion, Konaković emphasized that this is the final round of talks on an extremely important European path for BiH, ahead of the March European Commission report, which should recognize the progress our country has made, after which a recommendation would follow to the European Council to make a decision on opening accession negotiations with BiH.

He expressed hope that in the coming weeks we will all dedicate ourselves to work and activities in order to achieve the long-awaited goal in the European integration process.

During the meeting, he informed the ambassadors about his meetings at the highest political level with foreign ministers of EU member states and the President of the European Commission.

He also instructed the ambassadors to make additional efforts in their host countries so that the European Council's stance in March would be positive for BiH.

All BiH ambassadors in EU member states attended the meeting, which clearly shows the joint commitment in our country to the European path, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
