(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković had a phone conversation on March 21, 2025, with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria Beate Meinl-Reisinger.
On that occasion, Minister Konaković informed the Austrian Minister about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the attack by the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, on the constitutional order of our country. He added that peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina can only be preserved by stopping the anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional actions of officials of the BiH entity RS.
Austrian Minister Meinl-Reisinger expressed full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for our country's European path.
The interlocutors agreed that efforts must be made to preserve peace and stability in BiH and to continue the reform process on the path to the EU.
Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger also commented on the conversation, condemning the moves of the President of Republika Srpska and fugitive from BiH justice, Milorad Dodik, which are a threat to the stability, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of BiH.
- Thank you to my colleague Konaković for the excellent conversation. Austria is one of the main partners for the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Reforms, the rule of law, and stability are key to the future of this country in the European Union - she stated.
It is also clear to Austria who is the main cause of the current crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- The moves of the President of Republika Srpska, Dodik, are a threat to the stability, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He should be sanctioned accordingly - stated Meinl-Reisinger.
