Konaković calls on SDA and DF to 'get serious': If they remove me, it is not treason but high treason against the state of BiH

(Patria) - Head of BiH diplomacy and NIP leader Elmedin Konaković gave a statement to the media today in front of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Sarajevo, and spoke about the current political situation.

His address followed today's meeting between SNSD president Milorad Dodik and HDZ BiH president Dragan Čović in Mostar.

- The Trojka will no longer have any points of contact with Dodik. SNSD, led by Dodik, is not our partner, we have put an end to that story.

He looked unconvincing, pale. I saw him looking around, which is not his usual manner when presenting serious theses and facts.

It is evident that he is in a situation he has never been in before. He is used to his moves being met with reactive responses and dictating the pace on the political scene.

And for the first time, he finds himself cornered, with no solutions. And he is the one who actually doesn't know what can happen next. We know very well what the next steps are - said Konaković.

He says he believes that by the end of this week, a strong, most powerful formation in the House of Representatives will be crystallized with 14 votes, which will then, with the opposition from RS, have 19 votes and lead to several possible solutions.

- So, we know what options A, B, and C are. Option A - that HDZ decides to maintain its partnership with SNSD, in which case, along with SDA, they would have to form a government with Komšić, if SDA and Komšić want that.

Option B is for HDZ to realize that, for the first time in a long time, they have a strong pro-European coalition on the table, which is ready to complete what is required of us on the European path in a few weeks - emphasizes Konaković.

He adds that he is impressed by the courage of the opposition from RS, that they are "not subordinate to their party leaders, they have stepped out of their comfort zone, they offer simple solutions".

- The second solution is for this old love to be revived, which probably never ended, and for SDA to offer Dodik a helping hand. I saw that they retreated after the Trojka's statement. What do SDA and DF want?

To remove the Minister of Foreign Affairs, a Bosniak, at a time when Dodik has secessionist plans, in order to take revenge on Edin Konaković - to leave the Council of Ministers without a Bosniak minister who, after two years in office, has contacts with the most important decision-makers in his phone.

I call on them to get serious, to talk to us. If they bring a better minister than me tomorrow, and I am sure there are many such people, I will step down from this position.

Dodik knows that I am currently his biggest problem as Minister of Foreign Affairs. If SDA grants him this, without ensuring that someone else takes this position, it is not treason, it is high treason against the state of BiH.

Therefore, let Dodik, Bakir Izetbegović, and Željko Komšić, above all, gather themselves, let Čović thoroughly analyze the possible solutions and make decisions that are important for BiH, or let them take off their masks and return to their original states.

We are playing until the end and someone will win, it will not be Milorad Dodik, he has no chance of winning this game, unless Izetbegović and Komšić offer him a helping hand again, and then all three of them will lose together - claims Konaković.

He also announced that "SNSD cadres will be swept away" in the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

- I am taking care of those who do their job properly. I will reshuffle the Ministry, put responsible people in place. We are not playing games, we are very determined - concluded Konaković.
