Konaković files criminal complaint against Rimac for not appointing Gavrankapetanović

(Patria) - BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković has filed a criminal complaint against the Federal Minister of Health Nediljko Rimac.

Konaković filed the complaint with the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), after Rimac again refused to give consent for the appointment of Prof. Dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanović as the General Director of the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo (KCUS).

This information was confirmed to Faktor by SIPA spokesperson Jelena Miovčić, who added that they received the complaint today.

The proposal for the appointment of Gavrankapetanović to head KCUS was submitted to the minister by the Management Board of this healthcare institution back in late December last year.

After avoiding commenting on this issue for a long time, Rimac refused to give consent.

The Government of FBiH subsequently asked the KCUS Management Board to correct the previous request for consent. Although a new request was submitted within the deadline, the minister's consent was again missing.

Otherwise, after the departure of Sebija Izetbegović, Dr. Alen Pilav is the acting director of KCUS. Many have perceived this story as a new silent conflict between NIP and SDP, as the team around SDP leader Nermin Nikšić is not happy that Gavrankapetanović will take the position of General Director, if he ever gets consent at all.
