Konaković: Opposition from RS is brave, we need to return to the end of the Neum negotiations on the BiH Election Law

(Patria) - A meeting of the Trojka parties, HDZ, and the opposition from RS will be held in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly on Wednesday, discussing a new parliamentary majority.

The President of NIP and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH stated today that this meeting is a result of the political reality in BiH.

"What Dodik and SNSD are doing is leading the country nowhere, and no one is willing to discuss the future of BiH with him anymore due to the way he continues to undermine the constitutional order, threatening Serbs who do not follow his schizophrenic ideas," said Konaković, calling the opposition from RS brave.

"I think political actors have the maturity tomorrow to bring this to an end, and then to resolve personnel issues, starting with the Minister of Security. It is forbidden to block the House of Peoples. The Rules of Procedure state that a delegate has rights and obligations. I think personal solutions are also possible, and institutions and the High Representative have their role. While he is driving people out of institutions and calling them to leave, he is protecting the positions of Špirić, Amidžić, and Košarac with his life," said Konaković.

When asked if Serbia's refusal to extradite Milorad Dodik would worsen BiH-Serbia relations, Konaković said that Serbia has never extradited war criminals who killed children, committed the most heinous crimes, raped, and burned.

"We do not expect that kind of reason from Serbia. For them to extradite Dodik to us in some process, if the warrant is confirmed, I am not optimistic that it will happen. Serbia is a complicated neighbor, and I hope they now have a clearer picture of Dodik. The public in Serbia does not perceive Dodik at all the way they used to, and in that sense, Serbia could redefine its relationship to what Dodik is doing," he added.

He pointed out that Serbia's sending of a letter to Interpol is political interference and expressed hope that no political intervention will succeed.

Regarding Viaduct's lawsuit, which will cost BiH more than 100 million KM due to the RS entity, Konaković stated that "every mark of this process will be paid by the RS entity."

"Not today, not tomorrow, but that money will be taken from the financing of the RS entity. Every day of Amidžić's procrastination means reaching into the pockets of RS citizens. He took $9,000 a day from the RS entity. They showed a lack of principle. The state will pay that money, but it will be collected from the RS entity. They are just showing the state the RS entity is in," Konaković explained.

To a further question about the blockade of the House of Peoples announced by SNSD, Konaković said that criminal charges will be filed, and they are calling on the High Representative to intervene in that part of the BiH Criminal Code.

"We will go to the Central Election Commission, the High Representative, and for those who endanger BiH to be sanctioned," he said.

Konaković also stated today that a lobbying firm in America, with which a "pre-contract has been signed," will soon begin its work.

Regarding the BiH Election Law, which HDZ insists on, Konaković reiterated the position that "we should not elect a member of the Presidency for Croats," referring to earlier statements by some politicians, including Reis Husein Kavazović.

"This issue is resolved as a whole. We respect HDZ's request, and we have our request that the ECtHR judgments be implemented and that the infamous ethnic prefix be resolved. I appeal to all political actors to return to the end of the Neum negotiations, and let that be the beginning of new talks about BiH. We are ready to resolve this issue as a whole," Konaković concluded.
