Konaković: We will not support a negotiator from SNSD, there were advice from European colleagues to make a compromise

(Patria) - The BiH Council of Ministers made several decisions at today's session, and the BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmedin Konaković, spoke about some of them as they concern the purchase of properties for the needs of the diplomatic-consular network.

Thus, a decision was made to purchase a property in New York where a large sum of money is paid for rent.

"The BiH Mission to the UN will be located in that property," said Konaković.

He confirmed that a Working Group of the Ministry of Justice was formed today, which will begin work on the proposal for amendments to the Constitution and the Election Law of BiH.

"The Ministry of Justice proposed a working group consisting of experts, representatives, and lawyers; this could be a good start if politics is ready to deal with major issues such as the implementation of judgments," said Konaković.

He welcomed the return of two BiH citizens from Mali who were held captive and thanked the director of OSA, Almir Džuvo, whose employees participated in the operation to return the two citizens.

Regarding the chief negotiator with the European Union, that item was removed from the agenda today.

"I objected to that proposal being on the agenda; during the discussion itself, I perhaps argued the most that besides legal shortcomings, there is the most significant one – political, where I will never vote for people who, within SNSD, go to Moscow for their opinions. Today's decision would have cemented SNSD's position. There is no force in the world that can compel us, neither friendly nor less friendly, to believe that SNSD has changed. It is a pro-Russian submarine that destroys BiH's interests, and their cadres are unacceptable to us on the European path. Some European colleagues asked if we should perhaps consider a compromise and appoint someone from SNSD. These people do not understand our relations and do not want to understand that Russia wants to take control of BiH, and we will not participate in that," said Konaković.

Konaković also commented on the lifting of sanctions against Milorad Dodik, as well as numerous SNSD members.

"Perhaps it was a bit faster than we had information, but Dodik delivered what he was supposed to faster. The State Department said it was due to the annulment of elements of secessionist laws, they legitimized Christian Schmidt. We know there is a message that if you don't listen, we will return the sanctions," said Konaković.

He said there is an idea to abolish the OHR.

"I sent letters to all members of the PIC and OIC, warning about the harmful consequences of abolishing the OHR. The conditions for closing the OHR are prescribed as 5+2, so when they are met, we can talk about it," added Konaković.
