Konaković at hearing mentioned minimum wage: Neither I nor my party agree with it, and our minister supported it!

(Patria) - At today's hearing in the case of Vinko Jakić, dismissed director of the Federal Agency for Management of Confiscated Property, against the Appeals Committee, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Agency for Civil Service of FBiH, and the Agency for Management of Confiscated Property, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH and the president of NiP, Elmedin Konaković, continued his testimony.

It was precisely in this case that the court had previously fined him and even ordered his apprehension for previously failing to appear at hearings. However, Konaković appeared and testified, maintaining his statement that he had no functional authority, nor does he have it today, and that he did not participate in the dismissal procedure.

Lawyer Alen Nakić was interrupted several times today during the examination by objections from lawyer Nedim Ademović, but the Court largely rejected the objections, and Konaković had to answer the questions.

Konaković stated that he is the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, not a member of the Federal Government, and that he did not discuss, participate in, or analyze Jakić's work.

"I had no right to vote and I don't know what guided the Government of FBiH, and they can probably answer you about that, the Council of Ministers - where I have responsibilities and participate in voting - I will gladly answer you about that," said Konaković.

When asked by Nakić whether the issues of reconstructing management structures were, among other things, treated within the framework of the Trojka parties and their coalition agreement, Konaković said:

"The Election Law of BiH guarantees every elected parliamentarian the right to a mandate. Majorities are formed in parliaments, in this case the Federation, which elect the executive power. The Government of the Federation has constitutional and legal authority and is completely free in making all decisions.

I cannot dictate to parliamentarians, in this case from People and Justice, how they should act. If I were to order the Government of FBiH what to do, I would be violating the law, and I do not do that," Konaković claims, adding that the Government of the Federation appoints, the bodies of companies and institutions have their own responsibility and dismiss in the same way.

"Even political opinions that the lawyer insinuates cannot influence the Government's decisions. The most current example of this is the Government's decree on the minimum wage, which neither I nor my party agree with, and the minister voted for that decree.

By this, I want to say that the exclusive responsibility and authority here lies with the Government of the Federation and not with any party," Konaković emphasized.

To Nakić's further question as to whether personnel issues were the subject of a coalition agreement concerning the management of public agencies and institutions, the Court reacted and warned Nakić to stay within the scope of the specific legal matter.

"Given this denial of the applicant for security in the examination where the questions are more than specific and where the authorized representative of the applicant, and thus the applicant, is denied the proof of facts, the applicant for security ceases to examine the witness because it is considered that he is denied the examination of the same through illegal procedural decisions of the court and illegal warnings that are contrary to the Decisions on case management, evidence to be presented and the scope of that evidence and the circumstances under which that evidence is to be presented," said Nakić.
