Konaković as Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH stated his position: I have never hidden my support for the people and authorities of Palestine

(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković spoke today via Facebook, and in his post he emphasized that "we are following the events in Gaza with special attention and sorrow in our hearts."

"I have clearly stated my position several times for our media. The images of civilian suffering, women, children, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, the interruption of water, electricity, and basic food supplies, and other images take us back to the time of aggression against our homeland, the time of suffering of our people.

I have never hidden my support for the people and authorities of Palestine in their efforts to preserve and protect the territory they live on, to fight for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of their country, and to preserve and protect religious sites in this area that are of great importance to believers around the world. As long as I breathe, I will loudly and publicly support those efforts.

I support the only possible solution, two states in this area, only then can we achieve lasting peace and stability. The great world powers must make maximum efforts to reach that solution.

They must stop the conflicts and suffering of the innocent, and bring all those responsible for the killing of children, the burning and destruction of civilian infrastructure, religious sites, and hospitals to justice. There must be no protected individuals, crime must not be justified if they want to make this world just.

I have not justified, I have condemned the killing of Israeli civilians because it is humane. There is no justification for killing civilians.

Likewise, individual actions of Hamas cannot be a justification and alibi for the mass killing of civilians in Gaza, for the interruption of basic food supplies, the destruction of religious sites, hospitals. There is no justification for the killing of over 1,500 children in Gaza, that is a terrible crime.

We have the right to speak clearly and loudly about everything, especially we members of the honorable Army of the Republic of BiH, because we have shown the whole world how to chivalrously defend one's homeland. In the midst of the greatest struggle and suffering of our people, we condemned and sanctioned individual cases that went beyond the permitted rules of warfare in our ranks. Any attack on civilians was never approved, we prosecuted the perpetrators ourselves. On the territory under the control of the Army of the Republic of BiH, all religious sites were protected and preserved, there was no destruction, burning, or devastation," he stated among other things.
