Konaković and Novalić Mislead the Public: Documents Prove Izetbegović Wanted to Close the General Hospital

Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, from the moment of his appointment to the present day, has made a series of statements that have been filed under the category of believe it or not, but today's statement regarding the merger of the General Hospital „Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš“ and the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, has proven that he considers public opinion absolutely irrelevant, or else considers the people, i.e., the citizens of this country, to be ignorant, writes the Patria news agency.

- First of all, I want to dispel media manipulations related to this issue, which suddenly and unexpectedly for some attracted great attention. In our program called "Economic Growth and Employment", which was later replaced by the action plan of the reform agenda, we clearly indicated the intention to restructure healthcare in two segments: merging healthcare institutions and merging the procurement of medicines – Novalić pointed out to Slobodna Bosna, adding that the Government of the Federation of BiH at the end of December 2015 formed a Working Group with the task of preparing a clear financial analysis based on which it would be determined whether there is economic justification for the possible merger of the Public Institution General Hospital „Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš“ with the University Clinical Center Sarajevo.

And so Novalić wants to convince the public and the frozen citizens who, with their vigils, prevented the closure of hospitals, that the entire plan of Sebija Izetbegović, now director of UKCS, is actually fabricated by the media and the public. However, given that Izetbegović's appointment was not even before the SDA Personnel Commission, perhaps Novalić really does not know the ultimate goal, but better connoisseurs of the situation within the SDA dismiss such a possibility.

The prime minister forgot that, among others, Patria published a document that clearly indicated the fact that the closure of the General Hospital was a done deal, and Novalić apparently did not even read the statement of his party SDA in which they clearly stated that they want to move into the General Hospital building. So how could the Government move in, if the doctors and the entire hospital do not move out.

Document created by Izetbegović

However, such statements have been thwarted by the public, so on social networks and groups calling for saving the hospital, they respond very analytically to both Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo Elmedin Konaković and Novalić.

- Already on January 6, the same day Sebija Izetbegović was appointed director of KCUS, papers were prepared for the relocation of entire departments from the General Hospital to KCUS. We emphasize: not individual requests of employees, as Prime Minister Konaković assured us, but a collective "request" for the transfer of entire departments. The Prime Minister emphasized that Canton Sarajevo has no jurisdiction or control over KCUS, but has full jurisdiction and control over the General Hospital.

Given that he claims, as we saw in the show, that the Canton knows nothing about the collective relocation, we must ask ourselves whether the entire operation is under the control of extra-institutional, party clans (albeit, the same party to which the prime minister belongs - SDA), and not part of some general healthcare reform that the prime minister is talking about. The next step of the cantonal authorities can only be an official investigation, because it is a matter of illegal disposal of capacities that are under the jurisdiction of Canton Sarajevo.

This is the essence of the story, although Prime Minister Konaković wanted us to hear many other things, so that we would miss that, by all accounts, a great robbery is being prepared and that institutions are working at the behest of party clans – citizens warn.
