Elmedin Dino Konaković is the mandate holder for the new Government of Sarajevo Canton. This is the decision of the members of the Executive Board of the SDA Sarajevo Cantonal Board made last night, and Konaković received 21 out of 28 votes from the members of the Executive Board, reports the Patria news agency.
His opponent was Muharem Šabić. Long-standing political experience and a good understanding of the issues in Sarajevo Canton were decisive in the decision-making process.
Konaković is a representative in the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton. He graduated from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education. He speaks English, Italian, and Romanian. He was a councilor in the Municipal Council of Centar - Sarajevo (2004-2008), a member of the Committee on Sport at the Council of Europe (2004-2006), director of the Bosna Basketball Club (2003-2008), and a long-time player and captain of that club.
During the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was a soldier of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the 10th Mountain Brigade and the 15th Motorized Brigade from 05.04.1992 to 22.04.1996.
