Komšić: Bad blood has taken hold among pro-Bosnian parties, I ask DF members not to insult anyone, our policy has remained the same

(Patria) - The central pre-election rally of the Democratic Front (DF) Visoko was held tonight at the Altindag Cultural Centre, where the party's candidates for the Visoko City Council were presented for the upcoming Local Elections. Those present were addressed by the member of the Presidency of BiH and president of the DF, Željko Komšić.

- The political atmosphere in BiH is such that, in addition to being aware that we have opponents, enemies, adversaries, it seems to me that there is another thing that has suddenly changed and gone in a completely wrong direction after the last elections, and that is that hatred has somehow gripped political life even where we did not expect it - said Komšić.

He points out that we have witnessed over the past two years, since the General Elections ended and the government was formed, that hatred has begun to prevail in our political life in places where we should all agree on some major political goals.

- You cannot understand that someone can hate you so much, that they hate you even more than those who are proven enemies of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I will not now talk about the general political situation, explain why the DF took this or that step. I think we have remained exactly where we told people we were in the last elections, and that we have not given up on any goal.

So, we have not changed it. Everything we talked about, not only in the last elections but also in previous years, has remained our policy, and that is primarily equality among people, honest work, and the fight against corruption.

However, bad blood prevails among the options that are called pro-Bosnian, but I see no reason why it has to be that way, and I ask you not to fall into such a trap in this campaign, not to respond to hatred aggressively or, God forbid, also with hatred.

I ask you that the DF go through these elections as a serious party, dealing with serious matters, and not be a party that deals with hatred, at least not towards those who seem to be on the same side when it comes to the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I want to show that we are serious people, honest, and that we tackle the work we know how to do, not everything and anything, to prove ourselves and show ourselves, not in a way that people fear us, no one should fear us, and especially not in a way that we become loathsome and disgusting to someone, as politics now does when it comes to what the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina feel.

Let us act completely opposite to what is the mainstream in politics, i.e., how to insult and slander as much as possible, let us prove ourselves in a different way, not by how strong we are in insulting, let us prove ourselves through good deeds, to show that energy and let that be the change.

We should even show those who approach us with hatred how ready we are to work in the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens.

Politics is not just power, it is responsibility. Responsibility for the work you do, responsibility towards the people who vote, responsibility towards the family. Let us show that we can be different - Komšić concluded.
