SARAJevo, (Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić sent a telegram of condolences to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the death of Juan Maria Tintore, honorary citizen of the city of Sarajevo and honorary president of the Royal Tennis Club Real Club de Tennis Barcelona 1899.
“I received the news of Mr. Juan Maria Tintore’s death with great sadness. Mr. Tintore was a great friend of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. I had the opportunity to speak with him last year and thank him for everything that he, and the Kingdom of Spain, did during the wartime and post-war period in our country. With his commitment and great love for our city, Mr. Tintore contributed to the development of tennis in Sarajevo and helped equip young tennis players. Thanks to him, Sarajevo is the only city in the region to which the European Tennis Association awarded the first category of tennis tournament.
Because of his deeds and uniqueness, we will remember him forever, and his passing is a great loss for all of us. I extend my sincere condolences to his family and friends, on behalf of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and on my own behalf.
We in Bosnia and Herzegovina will always be grateful to Mr. Tintore for his long-term commitment and great friendship towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
