Komšić pays tribute to Jasenovac victims at Yad Vashem

(Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić today paid tribute to the victims of the Jasenovac concentration camp at the World Holocaust Remembrance Center Yad Vashem.

Chairman Komšić and the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he is leading during the Fifth World Holocaust Forum, were welcomed at the Memorial Center by its director, who expressed gratitude to the Chairman for his visit and intention to pay tribute to the victims.

During his visit to the Memorial Center, Chairman Komšić, recalling historical facts, pointed to the anti-fascist tradition of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its citizens and peoples, but also to the suffering that occurred during World War II, especially in connection with the suffering of Jews, Serbs, Roma, and fighters of the National Liberation War of all nationalities, due to the terror of the quisling Independent State of Croatia.

Signing the visitor's book at Yad Vashem, Chairman Komšić stated that the Holocaust will forever remain a permanent warning to humanity, and that the victims who perished during the Holocaust are an eternal pledge to those who desire tolerance, freedom, and peace in the world.
