Komšić in Washington on investments in the energy sector and the Southern Interconnection

(Patria) - The member of the BiH Presidency visited the company TC Energy in Washington, where he met with the director and members of the Board.

During the visit, discussions were held on the current energy security in the Balkans, with special emphasis on the diversification of gas supply and the Southern Interconnection, as well as on the long-term solution to the problems Bosnia and Herzegovina faces in the energy sector.



Komšić said that energy security has long been part of geopolitics worldwide, including in the Western Balkans.

He informed the company's management about the obligations of our country under the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between BiH and the EU, which it has undertaken to align with EU policies, as well as the challenges it faces regarding reforms in the energy sector.



Opinions were exchanged on potential investments that TC Energy could realise in BiH, with a special focus on projects related to the diversification of energy sources and sustainable development.

The company's director expressed satisfaction with the possibility of cooperation with BiH and the Balkan countries in general, and emphasised the importance this region holds in TC Energy's plans for expansion on the international market.
