Komšić in speech before Council of Europe on reducing powers of the House of Peoples

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić will address the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Tuesday, on the occasion of 20 years since Bosnia and Herzegovina's admission to the Council of Europe.

Komšić will, in his speech marking the twentieth anniversary of Bosnia and Herzegovina's admission to the Council of Europe, call for the implementation of all judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, in order to achieve equality for all citizens and eliminate existing discrimination in the constitutional system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Patria learns.

There will be particular discussion about the unequal value of the vote in decision-making in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Patria learns from the Cabinet of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, as we learn, Chairman Komšić will call for the alignment of the powers of the houses of peoples and the house of representatives, given that this is also a recommendation of the European Commission for Democracy through Law, i.e., the Venice Commission.
