Komšić sought support from EU officials for consistent implementation of the EC Opinion: No double standards

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić, during meetings and a working dinner with European Union officials, requested support from European Union officials for the consistent implementation of the European Commission's Opinion on BiH's application for membership in the European Union.
 
„For us, the most important thing is the European Commission's Opinion, that is, the fourteen recommendations and conclusions which are essentially the core of what Bosnia and Herzegovina needs. The opportunity was used to address the meeting and ask for that from European Union officials. If that is it, and I sign every word in the conclusions and recommendations from the European Commission's Opinion, please stick to it.

Do not have double standards as we sometimes had the opportunity to see in the past when it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the value system and everything you demand. If these fourteen recommendations and conclusions are what you expect from Bosnia and Herzegovina, interpret them as they are written. These are not simple demands for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but they are useful because they will lead to improvements within BiH.

If we talk about the fight against corruption, the rule of law, then let us not have double standards about that, and we should stick to it. Especially because it is in the new methodology,“ said Chairman Komšić in a statement to the media after the meetings in Brussels.
